Where our data comes from

ParkNear is built largely on public open data. This page lists every source, who publishes it and under what licence — because if we're going to use it, we should credit it properly.

How we label availability

  • LIVE — a real free-space count published by the city or a live feed. Measured, not guessed.
  • DRIVER REPORTS — recent check-ins from other drivers, weighted by how recent they are.
  • ESTIMATE — no observed data, so we model it from time of day, day of week and weather. Shown in a deliberately different style so it never looks like a measurement.
